Hi Melanie

Found your blog whilst on the CTC message board.

Welcome to Penrith, hope you have enjoyed your evening here. you timed it just right with the weather & even better its set to stay like this for a few days.

I am not really a local having moved to Penrith last year, my wife & I having realised our dream of living as near to the Lakes as possible.

I was out on my bike this afternoon & on days like today, cycling by the side of Ullswater certainly makes it a decision we won't regret.

Good luck with the Coast to Coast, make sure you call in at the Greystoke Cycle cafe

http://www.greystokecyclecafe.co.uk/

It may appear closed! but if Annie is in she will make you most welcome & I believe there is always some juice & cakes in the 'barn'

If you have any mechanical problems, Arragons in Penrith is an excellent cycle shop they are always in the local paper for C2C related stuff.

And finally if you don't have to rush home on Saturday you could always do the Fred Whitton Challenge Cycle Sportive on Sunday its torture on two wheels!

Only joking, have fun
